Medical Disclaimer
Effective date: January 1, 2025
The Anxious Black Girls® app and website (together, the "Services") are owned by ANXIOUS BLACK GIRLS, LLC. ("Anxious Black Girls," "we," "us"). The Services offer education, affirmations, and self-reflection tools about mental health.
Not medical advice. Everything in the Services, including the Anxious Black Girls app, articles, affirmations, journal prompts, and skills, is for general education and encouragement only. It is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed physician, psychologist, therapist, or other qualified health professional. Always talk with a qualified professional about your own health, symptoms, medications, or treatment. Never ignore professional advice or delay getting care because of something you read in the Services.
No professional relationship. Using the Services does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, or any other professional relationship between you and Anxious Black Girls or anyone who wrote or reviewed its content.
Not for emergencies. The Services are not monitored and cannot respond to a crisis. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are outside the United States, contact your local emergency number.
Research and accuracy. Our articles draw on published research and public health sources, which we cite. Research changes over time, and studies describe groups of people, not any one person. We work to keep content accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current, or right for your situation.
Screening tools and links. Some articles mention screening questionnaires, hotlines, directories, and other organizations. A screening tool is not a diagnosis. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, services, or providers, and a mention is not an endorsement.
Medication. Nothing in the Services is a recommendation to start, stop, or change any medication. Make medication decisions only with your prescriber.
