Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2025

This policy explains what information the Anxious Black Girls® app (the "App") handles and how. The App is owned by Anxious Black Girls, LLC. ("Anxious Black Girls," "we," "us"). The short version: we do not collect your journal, your saved items, or any health information. They stay on your device.

1. Information that stays on your device. The App stores these items only in your phone's or browser's local storage:

  • Journal entries and the prompts you answered

  • An unsent journal draft

  • Saved affirmations and saved articles

  • A note that you have already seen the opening screen

We cannot see, access, or recover this information. It never reaches our servers. The journal's crisis-word check also runs entirely on your device and sends nothing to anyone.

2. Information we do not collect. The App has no accounts or sign-in. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or health information through the App, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies in the App.

3. Technical information our providers handle. When you open the App, your device requests files from our hosting provider, GitHub. Like most web hosts, the provider may automatically log technical details such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the time of the request, to deliver and secure the App. [If the App loads fonts from Google Fonts: Google receives your IP address when fonts load. See Google's privacy policy.] We do not use this information to identify you.

4. Sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, because the App does not collect it. When you tap Share on an affirmation, your phone's share menu sends only the text you choose to the app or person you choose.

5. Links to other services. The App links to crisis lines, therapist directories, and other organizations. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

6. Children. The App is intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the App does not collect personal information from any user.

7. Your choices. You can delete individual journal entries in the App. Deleting the App or clearing your browser's site data removes everything the App stored on your device.

8. Changes. If we add features that collect information, such as accounts, cloud backup, or notifications, we will update this policy before they launch and change the effective date above.
