Terms of Use
Effective date: January 1, 2025
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and ANXIOUS BLACK GIRLS, LLC. ("Anxious Black Girls," "we," "us") for your use of the Anxious Black Girls® app and website (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What the Services are. The Services provide mental health education, daily affirmations, a private journal, and links to support resources. They are free to use. The Services are not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. Our Medical Disclaimer is part of these Terms.
2. Crisis and emergencies. We do not monitor the Services and cannot respond to you in real time. Nobody at Anxious Black Girls reads what you write in the journal. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, or call 911. The app may show crisis resources when you write certain words in the journal. That feature runs only on your device, may not catch every situation, and does not alert anyone.
3. Who can use the Services. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you should use the Services with the permission and guidance of a parent or guardian.
4. Your journal and saved items. Journal entries, saved affirmations, and saved articles are stored only on your device. We do not receive, store, or back them up. If you delete the app, clear your browser data, change devices, or lose your device, that content may be permanently lost. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for making any backup you want, for example with the "Copy all entries" button. Anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to see your journal.
5. Acceptable use. You agree not to copy, sell, or redistribute the Services or their content for commercial purposes; interfere with or try to break the Services; or use the Services in a way that breaks the law.
6. Our content and trademark. The Services, including articles, affirmations, journal prompts, design, and logos, belong to Anxious Black Girls or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. ANXIOUS BLACK GIRLS® is a registered trademark of ANXIOUS BLACK GIRLS, LLC. You may share individual affirmations for personal, non-commercial use using the app's Share button, with credit to Anxious Black Girls®. Any other use needs our written permission.
7. Third-party links. The Services link to other organizations, such as crisis lines and therapist directories. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, services, or privacy practices.
8. No warranties. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the Services will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error-free, or suited to your needs.
9. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Anxious Black Girls and its owners, employees, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, including journal entries, arising from your use of the Services. Because the Services are free, our total liability for any claim related to them is limited to $100.
10. Changes. We may update the Services or these Terms. When we change the Terms, we will update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
